Third Giro stage for Cavendish

Another injury for Cummings

Steve Cummings has suffered his third injury of the season in a crash near the end of stage two of the Tour of California. Cummings has missed much of the season so far after breaking his pelvis in the Volta ao Algarve in February, and then fracturing his wrist in the Vuelta al Pais Vasco in April. Cummings injured the same wrist in the California crash and will have x-rays to determine if it is fractured again.

Phinney beats Thomas to Giro win

Taylor Phinney won the opening time trial of the Giro d'Italia to take the first maglia rosa of the race. The American rider beat the time set by Geraint Thomas by nine seconds to take a commanding victory on the technical course around Herning, Denmark.

Swift out, Hunt in for Giro d'Italia

Ben Swift has been forced out of the Sky squad for the Giro d'Italia which starts this weekend. Swift had a crash during training today and suffered a broken shoulder. His place in the team will be taken by the veteran rider Jeremy Hunt.
