Tom Faiers has signed with American Continental team Wonderful Pistachios for 2011. Faiers had ridden as a neo-pro for Footon-Servetto in 2010 but was not kept on when the team became Geox possibly due to his rare heart condition which affected him last year.
While riding in the Tour of Austria, Faiers felt his heart racing due to condition called Wolff-Parkinson-White Syndrome. Faiers quit the race immediately but that was to be the last time he rode for Footon-Servetto. Ater being cleared to race again, he is now looking to win races on the National Racing Calendar in the USA with the goal of returning to a top European team in the future.
