Bradley Wiggins has won Paris - Nice becoming only the second British rider to win the historic race after Tom Simpson in 1967. Wiggins went into the final stage time trial up the Col d'Èze with a six second lead over Lieuwe Westra. The mountain time trial became a dual between these two riders who were significantly quicker than the rest of the field. Westra led by two seconds at the first check-point and went on to post an impressive time of 19'14". The climbed levelled out towards the end and Wiggins was able to claw back the time on Westra to win the stage by two seconds himself and secure the overall victory.
