Russell Downing has won the Grand Prix de Lillers - Souvenir Bruno Comini in northern France today. Downing was one of four Endura Racing riders alongside Scott Thwaites, Ian Bibby and Alexandre Blain who were in the decisive breakaway which got away late in the race. Endura were able to make their superior numbers count and setup Russell Downing for the sprint win. Scott Thwaites finished fifth in the group sprint and Ian Bibby twelfth. Yanto Barker of UK Youth also made it into the decisive breakway and finished in seventh place.
The win is Downing's first international victory for his new team Endura Racing and continues their strong start to the season.
