Fabian Cancellara comfortably won the world championship time trial at home in Switzerland today. As expected Cancellara dominated the fiela and won by a margin of 1 minute and 27 seconds from Gustav Erik Larsson with Tony Martin in third.
Bradley Wiggins was in contention for the bronze medal when his chain came off on the final lap. Wiggins threw his bike away in disgust when he saw that the team car was not right behind him with the replacement. Wiggins eventually finished in 21st position just behind team-mate Chris Froome in 19th.
